Enjoy a virtual visit to Buenos Aires, where you’ll be welcomed into Gabriela’s kitchen to learn her family’s empanada recipe and a traditional Argentinian dessert!

How It Works

Gabriela will teach you the technique for making empanadas that she learned from her grandparents, who sold them at their pasta shop in Buenos Aires. To round out your meal, you’ll also be making a chocolate cake with dulce de leche sauce.

Recipes and ingredients list will be emailed in advance of class. Some advance preparation of ingredients is recommended for ease of participation. For example, making the dough the day prior takes about 45 minutes. Customization for vegetarian and gluten free participants is available for dietary restrictions or preferences.

Since this experience is hosted in Buenos Aires, please keep the time difference in mind (GMT-3) when considering booking this event.

Gabriela’s cooking carries on a strong family tradition that she learned from her aunt and grandparents. Her grandparents were of Spanish origin and came to Argentina as teenagers escaping war. They owned a pasta shop in La Boca, a neighborhood in Buenos Aires that is famous for its artist community. Gabriela’s grandparents, artists themselves, produced ravioli, agnolotti, and a variety of other fresh pastas. They sold pasta and empanadas to their fellow artists in La Boca. Gabriela will teach you her family recipes from her kitchen in Buenos Aires to use in your own home, wherever you are located!
